Episode notes

Promises are fundamental to relationships—we establish trust and confidence in each other when we do what we say.

Thankfully, we have a God who always keeps his promises, and we can find those promises in the Bible.

But when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in you. Yes, I will trust the promises of God. And since I am trusting him, what can mere man do to me?

Psalm 56:3 TLB

Even when our lives feel unsteady, we can be secure in these and many more unchanging promises of God.

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT
