Gratitude is a huge part of our relationship with God.

He does so much for us, loves us deeply, cares about the smallest details of our lives, and wants to give us a good future. But all too often, we get so caught up in ourselves — what we feel, what we want to do, what we do and don’t have — that we miss out on how deeply God loves us. Gratitude helps us always keep that perspective, no matter what is going on around us.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

When we have a lot of stress and anxiety in our lives, we need the peace that “exceeds anything we can understand.” But it can be easy to skip over one significant step to get there: to thank God for all he has done.
