Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and [6] my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you— even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar.
Psalm 42:5-6 NLT
When we get discouraged, it’s easy to feel stuck in it. We may not always understand why we feel down, but this scripture can help us know how to break out. Remember God! Even when we feel sad and discouraged, it is a choice to put our hope in God every day, and this choice gives us the drive to keep pushing forward.
But this can feel easier said than done.
That’s where music can help us. Music speaks to the soul and helps us express parts of ourselves that are too deep for words. Through music, we can understand and express our sadness, anger, happiness, insecurity, and so much more.
Through music, we can go from feeling sad and dejected to refreshed and driven. In other words, we can go from “Discouraged to Determined.”
