God is the source of all courage. When our relationship with him is close, courage comes naturally because we trust God to protect us. This means that we don’t have to be swept away by fear or worry in even the most stressful and scary circumstances.

Read these verses of the Bible that will fills us with courage that gives us strength, peace, understanding, patience, and hope.

Proverbs 1:33 TPT
But the one who always listens to me will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, that one will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life.”

Joshua 1:9 NIV
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

John 14:27 AMP
Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]

Isaiah 35:4 Voice
Tell those who worry, the anxious and fearful, “Take strength; have courage! There’s nothing to fear. Look, here-your God! Right here is your God! The balance is shifting; God will right all wrongs. None other than God will give you success. He is coming to make you safe.”

Isaiah 57:15 NLT
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.

Psalm 23:1-4 GW
The LORD is my shepherd. I am never in need. [2] He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside peaceful waters. [3] He renews my soul. He guides me along the paths of righteousness for the sake of his name. [4] Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage.

Matthew 14:24-27 NLT
Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. [25] About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. [26] When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” [27] But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”

Galatians 6:9 AMPC
And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 GNT
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and in his grace gave us unfailing courage and a firm hope, [17] encourage you and strengthen you to always do and say what is good.

Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
