At the time of writing, we are facing unprecedented challenges.

The ongoing uncertainties of a pandemic, the fight for racial justice, wildfires, and political unrest are only a few of the global and national issues we are facing in 2020.

It’s a lot.

As we each face these hard times, it can be easy to neglect our mental, emotional, and especially spiritual state and how we are handling everything that is going on. One Chapman University survey found that 61% of people are feeling more stressed during this pandemic, and 47% feel trapped at home.

All of these problems are a lot to face, so how are we handling these issues? Are we relying on ourselves, or trusting that God is taking care of us? How can we tell?

We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. [8] Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option.

Relying on God doesn’t require that we have it all together or know what we’re doing. We can feel weak, under pressure, and unsure of what to do, but can still push forward because we are relying on someone greater than ourselves.
