Episode notes
The LORD says, “Those who trust in human beings are under my curse. They depend on human strength. Their hearts turn away from me. [6] They will be like a bush in a dry and empty land. They will not enjoy success when it comes. They will live in dry places in the desert. It is a land of salt where no one else lives.
Jeremiah 17:5-6 NIrV
When left to ourselves, it is easy to feel alone and insecure.
In our next episode of our “Back to School Special” podcast series, we seek to answer the question: “Where is God When I’m Insecure?” Whether it’s high school or college, school can be a time of conflicting emotions. We get stressed about class but excited about seeing friends. We are discovering who we are while being unsure of where we’re headed. All of these emotions can lead to a lot of insecurity. What do people think of me? How do I compare to my everyone else? Am I smart enough, pretty enough, talented enough?
“But I will bless anyone who trusts in me. I will do good things for the person who depends on me. They will be like a tree planted near water. It sends out its roots beside a stream. It is not afraid when heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It does not worry when there is no rain. It always bears fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIrV
God wants to help us navigate these feelings and thoughts so that we can become students who are secure enough to enjoy life and love the people around us. Join us as we discuss how to turn to God when we feel insecure.
