See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. [13] But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

Hebrews 3:12-13 NIV

The Bible tells us that we need each other’s daily encouragement to keep our hearts soft and believing.

Spiritual friends can help us keep believing when we want to give up and turn away from the sins that are hurting our faith.

It’s important to note that this scripture urges us to care for each other’s hearts. That means helping each other with the sins, feelings, and doubts that might be buried beneath the surface and are not obvious just by looking at our outward actions.

So how do we help each other with parts of our hearts that aren’t always easy to see? That’s where good conversations come in. Good talks with friends can help draw out deep parts of our hearts (Proverbs 20:5) so we can get closer to God and each other and keep each other’s faith strong.
