Though Zacchaeus came with baggage, Jesus’ decision to love anyway completely changed Zacchaeus’ life for the better.
When we love God with all of our hearts, we will have the capacity to love people wholeheartedly and live out the exciting destiny God has for each of us.
Jesus loved the rich young ruler enough to offer him a way out of rule-following by asking him to make a decision to be close to him.
By digging down deep, we start the process toward having a faith in God that is not easily shaken. However, depth takes work. It is not a personality trait or a natural talent, but rather a skill that must be worked at and developed over time.
God can give us faith and teach us how to love big!
Even when we make mistakes and hurt God, he still sticks with us because he loves us. Nothing we do can drive him away.
Being vulnerable with God means being comfortable with our weaknesses because we know God’s power is greater than any of our weaknesses or flaws and that all our strength and courage comes from God. There’s freedom knowing that God loves us no matter what and can make us strong despite our weaknesses or insecurities.
Building our convictions on the Bible will help us trust God to meet our present needs and to fulfill His plans for our lives and our families.
Once our faith in God is strong, it becomes easy to overcome the temptation to be cynical in human relationships.
