Episode notes
When we love vulnerability, we will open our hearts to God and others.
If we’re afraid of vulnerability, we’ll close up our hearts in pride and won’t admit our insecurities, weaknesses, thoughts, motives, and emotions. We may become embarrassed or angry at anything or anyone that pushes us to be vulnerable. Open hearts embrace vulnerability, trusting that God will make up for whatever we may be lacking.
even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. [8] Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. [9] Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 NLT
When we are humble, we aren’t held back by insecurity because we believe God cares about us, is interested in us, and has a plan for us no matter what, so we are free and willing to embrace our weaknesses. We can truly be ourselves because we aren’t worried about what anyone thinks, and we trust that God loves us for who we are.
Check out our newest One Quick Thought to learn more about how to we will learn to love vulnerability when we believe God loves us for who we are.
