About the video

Fear makes us miss out on the incredible benefits of vulnerability.

God wants to help open our hearts so we can see and hear him moving in our lives. When we decide to be vulnerable, we will see and admit our need for God, and in doing so open up our hearts to others.

It’s easy to feel really weak and exposed when we are vulnerable, because we are opening ourselves up to hurt. Biblical vulnerability is about our thoughts, motives, and emotions — what’s on our minds and hearts, and how are we affected?

God wants us to have healthy emotions rather than dark emotions. We become afraid of vulnerability because of our pride:

The wicked are too proud to ask God for help. He does not fit into their plans.

Psalm 10:4 ERV

We may not see ourselves as wicked people, but wickedness in God’s eyes is being against God, and we go against God when we get so proud that we don’t think we need him .

God wants to give us the help we need, but we have to be willing to be vulnerable enough to ask him for it.
