Our world is riddled with distractions of all kinds and it can be challenging to focus on God and hear his voice. We must slow down our lives, take a deep breath, and not only notice the beauty around us, but understand that God is the master painter of it all. Being silent isn’t limited to sound, but a quietness in our mind and still confidence in our soul as we constantly keep our eyes focused on God.
There is a competition for our attention on most days, but God really should be at the center of it. Our sins can weigh us down and make our lives feel even busier and distracted then they are or need to be. God wants us to come home to him, leaving our angst, guilt, and sins at the door so we can experience his love and forgiveness and see how “Blessed the guest at home in your place!”
