About the video

God is patient and incredibly forgiving.

Even when we run away or make mistakes, God is always ready to forgive us, correct us, and believe the best in us. God’s patience extends to anyone in their lowest moments and their deepest sadness. He’s there to comfort us and to walk us through our lives to get to a better place.

God perceives time differently

But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. [9] The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

2 Peter 3:8-9 NLT

God may seem slow in the way that he works when we ask for things or are experiencing troubles, but God is patiently waiting for us to come to him and see the opportunity past the problem. He works attentively to each of our individual everyday lives as much as he works to orchestrate the bigger picture of all of our lives.

God’s Wants Us To Express Our Emotions

I am passionately in love with God because he listens to me. He hears my prayers and answers them. [2] As long as I live I’ll keep praying to him, for he stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry.

Psalm 116:1-2 TPT

God doesn’t want us to hold in or forget about our emotions. He patiently listens as we share our emotions and process our thoughts. He is close to the brokenhearted and is ready to encourage those who reach out to him.

Praying and reaching out to God can be difficult when we don’t know where to start. Luckily we have a Devotional that talks about the importance of prayer and the 3 kinds of prayers you can have today! Read the article “The Importance of Prayer” now on DeepSpirituality.com

God’s Patience Inspires Patience

Jesus said: Don’t judge others, and God won’t judge you. Don’t be hard on others, and God won’t be hard on you.

Luke 6:37 CEV

God enjoys forgiving us for our sins so we can forgive others for how they’ve hurt us. God’s patience is not weakness, but strength to be able to look past others’ shortcomings. When we see how patient God is with us, it grows our patience for people around us.

God’s Patience Changes Us

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

Romans 2:4 NLT

God’s patience isn’t only meant to comfort us, but to give us purpose. When we see God’s patience, it makes us more compassionate and want to meet other people’s needs. It helps us take our minds off ourselves and think about how to care for others.

God Is Patient with Everyone

So, first and foremost, I urge God’s people to pray. They should make their requests, petitions, and thanksgivings on behalf of all humanity. [2] Teach them to pray for kings (or anyone in high places for that matter) so that we can lead quiet, peaceful lives— reverent, godly, and holy— [3] all of which is good and acceptable before the eyes of God our Savior [4] who desires for everyone to be saved and know the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 Voice

God desires a relationship with us that allows us to come to him whenever we want. He wants us to find answers and understand that a life with him makes our lives better. He never wants us to feel forced to choose him, but to understand that a life where we can pray to him freely is a life filled with love, compassion, and peace.
