Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done. He told her how Elijah had killed all the prophets of Baal with his sword. [2] So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said, “You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I’ll do it by this time tomorrow. If I don’t, may the gods punish me greatly.”

Have you ever had that feeling? Everything is going about as well as it can go, and then you begin to wonder, “how long can this last?”
Maybe you have had one of those days when you were happy, and I mean ecstatically with singing, dancing and big desserts happy! Elijah had one of those days, and it is one of the most exciting and best chapters of the Bible (I Kings 18:1-46).
The problem is Elijah’s ‘good day’ went ‘bad.’ Bad like the smell of the refrigerator, when what would have tasted good a month ago punishes you for your poor food rotation practices.
A weak husband named Ahab, told his strong wife named Jezebel about Elijah’s good day, and how it made him have a bad day, so Jezebel sent a message to Elijah promising she was going to ruin his day tomorrow.
Elijah ruined his today thinking about tomorrow.
Can you guess what happened next? Elijah ruined his today thinking about tomorrow. Absolutely nothing had happened, and there was no guarantee anything would happen, but Elijah took his good day down worrying about tomorrow.
What is our goal for today? Let’s not ruin our today worrying about tomorrow!
