Series instructions:
This series of Bible studies are meant to be done in sequence, over the course of several weeks depending on the pace at which you feel comfortable moving.
There are those who long to dive into our flagship series “Deep Spirituality” but are not yet ready to invest the time required.
For you, we have created “Deep Spirituality Lite,” which is an easier pathway to developing the spiritual stamina necessary for “Deep Spirituality.”
No one should feel ashamed or embarrassed about starting here. Most people who need to begin here have become spiritually exhausted, frustrated, or defeated. These are those moments when we can “barely whisper a prayer.”
Lord, they came to you in their distress; when you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer.
Isaiah 26:16 NIV
You are not alone, which is how this section has been developed, looking into those moments of spiritual struggle when God was allowing us to learn faith from life. What the Bible calls ‘discipline’ is best translated ‘training’, which is how we learn faith from life. It’s those moments when we have to learn like Job to hold on to hope so we won’t “give up the ghost!”
Who is he that will plead with me? For now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.
Job 13:19 KJV
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, we “give up the ghost” when we stop trying to do something because we know we will not succeed. (Biblically, “giving up the ghost” means ‘dying’ but we’ll stick with ‘quitting’.) Please don’t “give up the ghost.” Instead, dive into these simple one-scripture Quiet Times and grow.
Stick with us, and before you know it, you will get your groove back!
