If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

Proverbs 24:10 NLT

Life is filled with pressure.

Some people try to escape these pressures, but even if we find physical sanctuary in the remotest parts of the world, internal pressures will travel with us.

The solution to pressure or stress is not about where we live but how we live. This is the focus of our “Deep Strength” session. We want to learn how to walk with God in such a way that we are strong from the inside out.

We will take the time to examine life and find out if pain (Psalm 31:10), sin (Psalm 38:10), or even age (Psalm 71:9) is sapping our strength. We want to look deeply to see if these forces are affecting our ability to function daily (Psalm 102:4, Psalm 119:28).

Once we have examined the weakening impact of external and internal forces on our strength, then we want to take time to reflect on the question of where our strength comes from. Do we worship our own strength (Habakkuk 1:11) or have we made the transition from humanism to God-reliance (Jeremiah 17:5-8)?

The goal of this session is to make certain we make the transition to God-reliance, deeply and permanently. In fact, we will learn to walk with God in such a way that we not only survive or overcome our trouble and weakness, but we do something even more extraordinary. We will learn how to walk with God so we can turn our weaknesses into strengths.

Do we worship our own strength, or have we made the transition from humanism to God-reliance?

Like every other session, these feature articles and quiet times are to help you develop a foundation of thought all your own. After all, this is your relationship with God, and while it helps to have some assistance, the transformative moment is when you make it your own.

Do this today, and like many of us, you will be surprised by the joy you experience when you become deeply strong.
