Settle in

Take a deep breath. Turn off notifications on your phone if you can. Ask God to show you how to walk with him today.

Thought starter

God is a friend—a trusted companion on our journey—but he is also much more. A human friend can offer advice or be there for us, but God’s role is also one of a guide, a leader, and a source of power. He knows the path and has the ultimate power to help us through our life’s journey.

But let’s be real—“walking with God” is not just a nice phrase that we use at church. It’s choosing every day to let God lead us. It’s a partnership—not just when life feels good, but also when it’s messy, boring, or straight-up hard.

Here’s what we’ll learn in this Quick Quiet Time:

  • Walking with God is not about being perfect, but choosing to keep moving forward even when the trail gets steep.
  • Walking with God is a journey best traveled light, without the weight of bitterness.
  • Walking with God is a lifetime of small, faithful steps.

Walking with God 3

You don’t need flawless faith—just honest steps.

And as Enoch continued to walk with God, he was no more; for God took him away.

 Genesis 5:24 VOICE

Mic drop moment:

Enoch walked so closely with God that he skipped death and got a direct ride to heaven. No drama, no detour—just poof, gone.

  • Walking with God doesn’t mean arriving perfectly at the top of the hill. It means being honest about the struggle and choosing to keep moving, even when the trail is steep.
  • God’s not just watching from above. He’s our best friend on the trail. He knows the route, the shortcuts, and the rest stops.
  • We’re not walking alone. We’re walking with the one who never gets tired.
Walking with God 4

Watch out for trailstoppers.

Love …  is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

1 Corinthians 13:5 VOICE

“Yes, if you forgive others for their sins, your Father in heaven will also forgive you for your sins. But if you don’t forgive others, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.”

Matthew 6:14-15 NCV

Truth bomb:

You can’t walk with a forgiving God if you’re holding on to unforgiveness yourself.

  • Walking with God is a journey best traveled light.
  • Bitterness and resentment are like heavy rocks we carry in our backpacks. They slow us down and make it impossible to keep moving forward.
  • Holding onto grudges isn’t just a choice—it’s a roadblock on your path to following God.

Walking with God 6

Final thought

Enoch wasn’t a spiritual superhero. He was just consistent.  He didn’t clock in with God once a week. He lived it daily. His legacy wasn’t one big moment. It was a lifetime of small, faithful steps. Now it’s time for you to go walk it out—with God beside you every step of the way.
